| | Project internships are sponsored by organizations interested in having an Internet application developed for their company. In an average year, 10 to 12 potential projects are reviewed by the Master of IT faculty and 5 or 6 are accepted.
In order for students to develop a broad understanding of Internet strategy, the annual portfolio of projects for the program consists of both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. Current and past project sponsors represent diverse organizations varying in size, sector, and technical specialization, including: | | | | • | Athens Community Playground | | • | 401k Toolbox |
| | On average, a team consists of five members who focus on different aspects of the project: project manager, client relations manager, project analyst, project designer, and the technical lead.
Although all students have coding and management responsibilities, the project manager, client relations manager, and project analyst are accountable for the business requirements of the project. They make sure the Internet application meets client needs and is delivered on time. The project designer and technical leader are accountable for the project's technology requirements. They are also required to know and understand the business strategy behind the product. | | | | To learn more about sponsoring a Master of IT project, you may apply online or contact the program at: | | | Master of IT Program 312 Brooks Hall Terry College of Business The University of Georgia Athens, GA 30602 (706) 542-3586 mit@uga.edu | | | | Back to top |
