Blend of business and technical training
 
Master of Internet Technology students develop very applied technical and management skills related to the five primary project roles: project manager, client relations manager, project analyst, project designer, and technical lead. Feedback from employers of the MIT graduates has confirmed that this program produces some of the most well-developed and experienced candidates for positions in project management, business/systems analysis, Internet technology management, and other areas that require candidates to have a balance of technical and business skills.

Leading-edge technology
 
To satisfy technical requirements of project sponsors, the program introduces students to the most current technology which has been proved in the workplace. Core curriculum includes HTML/CSS, Java, J2EE, Javascript, PHP, SQL, and Unix. Other technology requirements of past and current projects include ColdFusion, GIS, Java security, Webcasting, WML, XML, and VoiceXML.

Project management experience
 
The Master of IT Program is the only program at the university that provides students with the educational requirements for Project Management Institutute (PMI) Certification -- the world's most recognized professional credential for project management. Students complete 35 contact hours in the nine knowledge areas of project management and graduate with 160 to 200 hours of real project experience they can apply to PMI certification.

Advisory board of industry experts
 
As the curriculum for this program must stay on the leading-edge of technological innovation, the program has recruited an Master of IT Advisory Board to assist with regular curriculum development and evaluation. Currently, the advisory board has representation from Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, Deloitte Consulting, Digital Insight, EzGov, Ptek, and WhyData Works.

Focused curriculum
 
The curriculum is a five-semester intensive program dedicated to the Master of IT students. This allows courses and programs to be tailored to the specific objectives of the program. Required courses are designed to be complementary, with coordination among teaching faculty.

Individualized attetnion
 
The Master of IT class size of approximately 30 students enhances faculty attention to individual student learning and personal development. The faculty of the program develop first-name professional relationships with students and provide the individual coaching and mentoring essential for career development.
